In Northern California, oud stands are not a big demand item. Walmart doesn’t even carry them! So I was happy to find this on Amazon. It’s essentially two curved pieces of dark wood held together by a hinge on the top and a shoestring on the bottom — not complicated at all. Nevertheless, it isn’t something I could make myself, so I bought it here. And it looks good! Also, I appreciate the pads on the bottom that protect the surface of the cabinet where I displayed it, and the padded curvy part that the instrument rests against. The leather strap that holds the neck of the oud in place is perhaps overkill, but it does add stability. I’m happy with this purchase. Take a look at my pics.

So, this stand I paid $100 looks like something I could have made in woodshop in high school!! Why it cost this much I have no idea and it looks nothing like the advertised item. There are places that were missed when they put the cheap ass paint on it, you can easily see the white spots!! Weather it has my Oud or not to me is irrelevant. If you want to risk getting the same stand I recieved, I would not bother. I am very disappointed. Coming from Turkey, I would expect good craftsmanship. This thing is worthabout $40. Never again!!!!Update: Feb 19thSo I recently got in contact with Salamusik and they were very helpful in getting me a replacement stand. It still wasn't the color advertised but It was a nice stand. I still think it is a bit expensive! Thank You Veysel for all your help.

Everything was perfect except for the ESSENTIAL leather neck strap button snap which was broken on arrival. Delivered quickly, very nice design, and if not for this broken feature, would give it 5 stars. (Attempting to glue it right now to see if it makes a difference.)

Got this for my husband and it fits his instruments perfectly. This will be a great addition next time he performs live.

This is a well made item. It looks kind of like it would fit a smaller oud better than my huge Arabic oud but it works.The only odd thing is the really cheapo string they put at the bottom to keep the braces from flying apart. The place where the oud rests is lined with a thin rubber which is not apparent in the photos of it. The strap at the top is made out of real leather.
